ARTWORK STATEMENT:

Gentrification is a flood that wipes out all the businesses and housing that a community has access to. Even after losing their house many people choose not to leave the place that binds their social network. Their world has ended, but vehicles become vessels to survive the streets. People hold on to places for as long as they can, hoping that the flood of money is a bubble and that one day they will be allowed back into their home.
