ARTWORK STATEMENT:

Imago is a gridded assemblage of photographs reflecting the interiority of the Black body. The artist explores what it means to be alive within one’s body and exist within the multiplicity of Blackness. Through fragmented form, shadow and individuated images presented together as one this display is a metaphor for collectivity and the sum of one’s parts.
